Marc Cerrone ( Franse uitspraak: [maʁk sɛʁɔn] ; geboren 24 mei 1952) is een Franse discodrummer , componist, dirigent, dj, platenproducer en concertorganisator . Cerrone is een producer van discosongs uit de jaren 70 en 80. Hij heeft wereldwijd meer dan 30 miljoen albums verkocht, waaronder meer dan vier miljoen exemplaren in Frankrijk, en acht miljoen exemplaren van Supernature . De single "Love in C Minor" (1976) bereikte nummer 3 en stond twee maanden in de hitlijsten, met een verkoop van drie miljoen exemplaren. Met " Supernature " (1977) combineerde Cerrone symfonische orkestratie met synthesizers. Op het Billboard Disco Forum van 1978 ontving Cerrone zes prijzen, waaronder Disco Artist of the Year. 

Naast Love in C Minor , Cerrone's Paradise en Supernature , kende Marc Cerrone succes in Europa met albums als Cerrone IV: The Golden Touch (1978), Where Are You Now (1983), The Collector (1985), Human Nature (1994) en meer recentelijk met de dancealbums Hysteria (2002) en Celebrate (2007). [ bronvermelding nodig ] Cerrone staat ook bekend om zijn liveoptredens. In 1991 speelde hij in de show Harmony ter ere van de lancering van Japans eerste satelliet-tv met hoge resolutie . De rockopera werd opgevoerd voor meer dan 800.000 toeschouwers in de haven van Tokio. Cerrone bewerkte "Harmony" voor het theater. In 1992 werd de musical Dreamtime , gebaseerd op een origineel verhaal van Cerrone, 140 keer opgevoerd op Broadway in het Ed Sullivan Theater in New York .

Cerrone heeft opnames gemaakt en opgetreden met Nile Rodgers , Toto , Laura Branigan , Jocelyn Brown , La Toya Jackson en Axelle Red . Zijn muziek is gesampled door artiesten als The Avalanches , Bob Sinclar , de Beastie Boys en Run-DMC .
