This game is, in it's own way very similar to Parrappa the Rapper, with a few differences, the main difference being the music, gone are the Parrappa hip-hop tunes, as we welcome instead famous names in the club music scene.
The other difference is quite obvious too, when you buy Beatmania you can also buy the DJ mixing deck controller.
This includes the start and select keys, 5 piano keys (3 white 2 black) and the record deck for scratching.
After the intro video, you have a number of options, but all are near enough the same, they all involve going on to select which track you are going to play (Or for new players mutilate hehehe).
The game itself is a simple case of Simon says, follow the bars as they get to the bottom of the screen, when they reach the bottom you have to press the appropriate key or turn the mixing deck.
The music on the game has been very well chosen, it includes such tracks as "Bring it back", "Jaques your body (Make me sweat)" and even a remix of the Metal Gear Solid video game theme.
